About / What We Do
We create events for animal advocates all around the world
Events built to strengthen a global movement
Across regions and contexts, AVA convenes advocates through various events that align strategy, expand capacity, and accelerate systemic change for farmed animals worldwide.
What is AVA Summit?
An international 3-day conference series for advocates working towards systemic change and advancing various strategies toward one shared vision: removing animals from our food system and other human uses.
AVA Summit events bring together movement builders, practitioners, researchers, funders, organizations and more across regions to align strategy, share evidence-based approaches, and strengthen the global infrastructure for farmed animal advocacy. We design our events in coordination with other movement convenings to reduce duplication, conserve limited resources, and maximize collective impact.
Who is AVA Summit for?
AVA Summit is for advocates, activists, organizations, students, researchers, funders, and anyone interested in working to advance systemic change for farmed animals.
This includes advocates, campaigners, researchers, funders, students, policy practitioners, nonprofit staff, grassroots organizers, communications and media professionals, filmmakers, technologists, movement builders, and adjacent allies whose work strengthens capacity, culture, or strategy in the broader farmed animal advocacy ecosystem.

What is AVA Academy?
A three-day cohort-based training program for advocates seeking to deepen skills, strategy, and capacity to drive systemic change for farmed animals.
AVA Academy delivers intensive, small-group learning through workshops, case studies, and facilitated peer exchange. The program focuses on practical competencies—such as fundraising, research, policy, communications, organizational health, and regional movement strategy—and is designed to equip advocates to apply these tools within their own contexts for higher-impact work.
Who is AVA Academy for?
AVA Academy is for advocates who want to deepen their strategic capacity and apply high-impact skills within their work.
Participants include NGO staff, campaigners, researchers, communications practitioners, fundraisers, policy advocates, emerging leaders, and early-career professionals seeking structured, practical training to strengthen their contribution to the movement for farmed animals.
What can I expect at an AVA Academy?
AVA Academy is an intensive, small-cohort learning environment focused on practical skill-building and applied strategy for farmed animal advocacy.
Hands-on training, not theory. Tracks, electives, and labs designed for direct application in your current role or context.
Structured peer learning. Small-group discussions, feedback, and shared problem-solving with advocates facing similar challenges.
Facilitated expert guidance. Sessions led by practitioners and trainers with deep field experience in research, policy, fundraising, communications, and organizational health.

What is Grantee Day?
Grantee Day is a closed convening for current institutional funders and their grantee partners to align strategy, surface gaps, and strengthen coordination across funded animal advocacy work. It provides a structured space for honest learning, cross-project insights, and stronger funder–grantee collaboration in service of systemic change for farmed animals.
How does Grantee Day work?
Grantee Day takes place alongside select AVA Summits as an invite-only, off-the-record gathering. Grantees apply in advance, and participating funders select which organizations they want to engage with more deeply. AVA then facilitates curated 1:1 meetings between funders and selected grantees — creating a structured, confidential space for direct dialogue, clarity, and alignment rather than public presentations.
