Bridging the gap between local and worldwide strategies
Events built to strengthen a global movement
Advocates are doing vital work all around the world, in their own countries, languages, and communities. However, access to international movement spaces is not always easy. AVAx exists to lower those barriers.
AVAx conferences feature sessions, workshops, and conversations designed around the realities of advocacy in their host country. A space where activists can meet people working on similar challenges, hear practical ideas from local voices, and strengthen the national advocacy community.

AVAx FAQ
-
At the moment, AVA International is not receiving applications to organize AVAx conferences. We will communicate when applications open. Subscribe to our newsletter at the bottom of our page to stay updated.
In 2026 we are holding the pilot in Madrid, Spain. Our aim is to have two AVAx events in 2027, and grow from there. This means that currently we can only support a limited number of potential organizers. We understand that we might receive separate applications from the same country, and we will do our best to work with all applicants to see if collaboration is feasible and desirable.
-
As the AVAx events are organized on a national level, only one event per country can be held per year.
-
We want to offer our support to as many countries as possible, where we can have a positive impact on the movement. That means that we cannot fund repeating events currently. However, through AVAx events we aim to unlock local funding and enable future conferences.
-
Apart from funding, AVA International will guide organizers in developing their approach and setting up a successful program, selecting a venue and catering, building their core team and steering committee, how to approach potential local funders, and support with communication and marketing through templates and copy that can be translated and adapted to the local context. Direct support will be offered through Slack, Asana, and regular 1:1 support calls.
The AVA International team will not be available to provide direct on-site help or attend the AVAx conferences.
