Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality and passport. AVA International is not legally able to provide visa guidance or recommendations, and visa eligibility must be determined independently by each participant. We strongly recommend confirming entry and visa requirements directly with the Argentine consulate or official government sources before booking travel. Some travelers may be asked to complete a sworn statement regarding the purpose of their visit upon arrival.
-
Yes. As of July 1, 2025, most foreign visitors are required to have valid travel health insurance to enter Argentina. This insurance must cover medical care, hospitalization, emergency assistance, evacuation, and repatriation for the full duration of your stay.
Airlines may ask for proof of insurance before boarding, and Argentine immigration officials can request it upon arrival at airports, land borders, or ports. Travelers without proof of coverage may be denied boarding or entry. Argentine citizens and permanent residents are generally exempt. Because entry requirements can change, we recommend checking the latest guidance from the Argentine consulate or official government sources before traveling.
Affordable international travel health insurance is widely available. Many attendees use comparison websites such as Squaremouth or InsureMyTrip to find low-cost plans that meet Argentina’s requirements. These platforms allow you to compare multiple providers and policies, and basic travel medical coverage is often available for just a few dollars per day, depending on age and trip length. Common providers include Allianz, IMG, WorldTrips, Seven Corners, Tin Leg, and similar international travel insurers.
If you have received an AVA travel scholarship, you may include the cost of required travel health insurance in your scholarship stipend. Simply include the insurance invoice and receipt in your expense report and submit it during the reimbursement process with the Travel Award department.

Securing a central, well-connected venue to reduce transportation barriers
Including all meals during the event (100% vegan, with gluten-free options)
Providing simultaneous translation to reduce language barriers
Working with partners and sponsors to help subsidize attendance where possible
